What is EDA?
Since the invention of integrated circuits (ICs) in the 1960s, microelectronics has developed rapidly. Ongoing miniaturisation and an exponential increase of functionality continue to challenge the developers. This is where EDA comes into play. It offers methods and tools for the design of these systems, including procedures for the automation of design steps and verification tools to test the results for accuracy.
EDA is a basic requirement for the development flow of micro and power electronics, and the progress of EDA helps the developers handle the increasing complexity of this key technology.
